Carnwath is in south Central Scotland, 30 miles from Edinburgh and Glasgow, and to the south of both these cities. It is in the Clyde Valley, which forms a gap between the high moorlands of North Lanarkshire and West Lothian, and the hills of the Southern Uplands.
